Dr. Janice Bray MD, MBA, FAPA is a Board-certified Medical Doctor specializing in General Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, and Emergency Medicine for over 30 years. Dr. Janice Bray completed her Residency training at Yale University's School of Medicine, Medical school at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine, and undergraduate training at Howard University. Her Fellowship in General and Correctional Law and Psychiatry was completed at Harvard Law School’s Department of Law and Psychiatry where she went on to be a Clinical Professor.

Dr. Bray has proudly served her country and the nation's veterans as Medical Director of Behavioral Medicine as well as Acting Chief of Staff of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Texas and Arizona. In addition to a career in serving the nation’s veterans, Dr. Bray has served state and local criminal justice systems as a psychiatric evaluator, forensic analyst, and Court Appointed Special Advocate for the Travis County Courts. In 2016 Dr. Bray also resumed her work in Behavioral Emergency Medicine at Seton UMC Brackenridge, now Dell-Seton Emergency Department in Austin, Tx.
Over the last decade Dr. Bray has held the executive leadership roles of Chief Medical Officer, Medical Director, and Vice President in varying Fortune 500 healthcare and insurance organizations. During the same time, she became a founding member of the National Medical Association's Austin Chapter, while serving on the board of the University of Texas at Austin’s Mental Health Disparities Task Force. Notably, Dr. Bray was most recently appointed to the Travis County Commissioner's Court for Emergency Services where she provides her medical expertise in oversight and advisory capacities for the county's Emergency Services planning and policy initiatives. Dr. Bray approaches her practice of medicine with immense energy for helping patients strike the greatest balance in their lives while assisting those that may suffer from trauma and abuse that would otherwise go ignored. She is a mother to 5 adult age children and two dogs.
